APPS/007Application modernisation

Keep what works.
Improve what holds you back.

We update applications your team already uses, improving screens, workflows or components that limit their evolution. We plan the work in stages, taking data and business continuity into account.

BuildConnectEvolve

An existing application.
A new stage.

The team needs to keep working while the system changes. We identify what can be improved in stages and which dependencies shape the transition.

/001

Refresh the interface

Simplify the screens and user journeys that make the team's work harder.

/002

Update the technical foundations

Assess dependencies and components that limit maintenance or further development.

/003

Improve specific features

Correct problematic processes or incorporate priority capabilities without redoing everything.

/004

Prepare a migration

Define how data and features will move when part of the system changes.

From the current system
to a manageable transition.

First we understand how it works, its data and its dependencies. The proposal distinguishes gradual improvements from changes that require a wider replacement.

A tool of your own.
A specific delivery.

These are the elements we define in the proposal. The final scope depends on your starting point and business priorities.

/001

Initial review

We examine the documentation, code and user journeys available within the agreed scope.

/002

Intervention plan

We prioritise changes, risks and dependencies to define a manageable sequence.

/003

Phased implementation

We apply the agreed modifications and prepare the affected data or connections.

/004

Testing and transition

We check the relevant features and plan the change, recovery process and follow-up tasks.

/005

Handover and continuity

We hand over the access, documentation and guidance covered by the agreed scope. Follow-up or maintenance is defined separately if commissioned.

Understand the foundations.
Change in stages.

(4)
  1. Understand the system

We review code, documentation, data and workflows to decide what work we can take on.

  2. Prioritise the work

We choose the most useful changes and the dependencies that must be addressed first.

  3. Develop and compare

We apply changes in a working environment and compare important workflows with the previous version.

  4. Prepare the transition

We plan migration, any downtime and recovery, then review the system after the change.

Designed for your team.
Sustainable for your business.

Agreed scope

A custom application needs priorities and limits. We document features, user journeys and acceptance criteria before development.

Data and access

We define the profiles, actions and information each person needs, along with the planned backups, recovery and access management.

Operation and ongoing development

We define where the application runs, its recurring costs and who maintains it. Later versions are prioritised according to actual use.

Before we start.

(5)
Can you work on code from another developer?

We assess this after a review. We need to understand the application's condition, technologies, access and usage rights. That review may recommend targeted changes or an alternative approach.

Can we continue working during the changes?

Continuity is a requirement to define explicitly. We can plan test environments and transition phases, but any necessary downtime must be identified and agreed in advance.

Does everything have to be defined from the beginning?

We need a clear goal and scope for the first version. Further features can be prioritised after testing; changes are assessed before they are added.

Can we connect the tools we already use?

We review the integration interfaces, permissions and terms. If a connection is not feasible, we explain alternatives and their limitations before committing to development.

What happens after delivery?

We agree on hosting, support, maintenance and documentation. The proposal distinguishes operation of the delivered version from extensions and recurring services.
